If you managed to make it down to REFLEX last Saturday night, you would have enjoyed the welcome return of Lisa Scott-Lee to one of Kingston’s premier nightspots. Lisa took to the stage to perform her new single, ’Too Far Gone‘, and her energetic dancing and chair-straddling abilities proved so popular, it was impossible for Lisa to leave without an encore. Lisa has always been popular at Reflex, but her little brother, Andy Scott-Lee, also received a little hero’s welcome when he arrived at the venue to support his sister, hot from his victory on Saturday’s Pop Idol heat with girlfriend Michelle (from Liberty X) in tow.

Later on in the night, owner Martin told us ’Lisa loves coming down to Reflex - it’s one of her favourite venues because the crowds here are always so lively. It’s great to have her back‘. It seems much of the mixed crowd agreed, as they danced the night happily away to the trash, handbag and commercial hits laid down by resident DJ Freckles.

Reflex is a really friendly, comfortable and fun venue and the crowd are very welcoming to visitors. It’s worth a visit alone to take advantage of the wonderful drinks promotions Martin organises. Currently, San Miguel is £2 a bottle while on Thursdays, Fosters is added at £2 a pint - and there’s always other drinks added from time to time. Watch this space for details of upcoming events, including a special Hallowe’en party, a special performance by Barratt Waugh on 8 November and the yet-to-be-confirmed return of those Cheeky Girls.

Reflex is at 184 London Road, Kingston, and is open Fridays and Saturday from 10pm till 3am. Entry on Friday is £3 before 11.30pm, £5 thereafter and on Saturdays it’s £5. The Forum Bar is also open on Thursday evenings from 9pm till 1am, with free admission. Call 020-8548 9800 for more details, or visit www.reflexnightclub.com
