For
the last 12 years, Kingston’s premier gay venue, Reflex, has been
givin’ us ’love you can’t ignore‘ and last Saturday night,
managers Martin and Chris celebrated in exceptional style.
Any birthday party with Gina G on the bill definitely gets a thumbs-up
from the Boyz office, and we were over the moon to see her perform a
selection of her songs, including her legendary Eurovision entry
’Ooh Ahh (Just A Little Bit)‘ and new single. Gina G in front of a
crowd of up-for-it gay men always goes down a storm - and she was
joined by the quick-witted Rose Garden, who was well on form with the
jokes and jibes, plus DJ Freckles with an inexhaustible supply of
commercial dance and party classics.
Reflex has always managed to pack in the cutest boys from Kingston and
the surrounding local areas, and last Saturday was no exception.
’This place is still manic,‘ said Chris, and manager Martin later
told us ’I’d like to say a big thank you to all our customers -
both new and old - that have helped make Reflex the place it is
today‘.
Well, it may be twelve years old, but Reflex isn’t afraid to try
something new and this Friday (28 May), they’re having a special
one-off r’n‘b and urban night, with special guest DJ Annabelle.
The boys are also opening up shop on Sunday (30 May) with a Bank
Holiday bonus party, from 9pm till 1am with free entry all night long.
Go check it out, and see why the Reflex has been such a firm favourite
for so long.
