QX Magazine ISSUE  #485

Saturday night saw us out at The Reflex in Kingston-Upon-Thames to enjoy the celebrations that  Chris, Martin and the rest of the Reflexologists had laid on to celebrate their twelfth birthday. There was already a huge queue snaking down the pavement by the time we arrived. The super courteous security whisked us through and we were soon at the bar. If you've  been to The Reflex you'll know how deceptively Tardis-like it is. The dance floor at the back was already packed with revellers getting down to camp classics and current commercial favourites supplied by DJ Freckles.

Boys, girls, gay, straight, it didn't really matter, this mixed crowd were really up for one hell of a party.
The bar was superbly decorated with hundreds of multi-coloured helium balloons with ribbons covering the whole of the ceiling. The upstairs bar is done out in a Roman theme and fountain in the middle of the room is simply the campest thing we've seen in ages.
At around half twelve international glamour terrorist Miss Ro$e Garden whooped the crowd into a frenzy in anticipation of Eurovision gal Gina G. Who would have thought Gina G had only recently given birth to her son Dylan? She looked fabulous. Flanked by two hunky dancers Gina whipped through her hits including a fabulous homage to Nancy Sinatra with a stonking version of 'These boots were made for walking', her signature tune 'Ooh Ahh, Just A Little Bit'. Gina's encore was her new single 'Heaven', a fierce high NRG stormer. An excellent night out in the Reflex. Great friendly crowd and fabulous party atmosphere.
On the 28th there's a one-off RnB night called Urban Groove with DJ Annabelle on the decks. The Reflex opens on Fridays and Saturdays, 10pm-3am.
On Bank Holiday Sundays The Reflex opens 9pm-1am, when entry is free all night.
